The Eastern 757 Retro jet was designed as a two-fold project: 1st to commemerate the 1st delivery of a DC-8 to Eastern, and second to provide Eastern with one of those oh-so-popular retrojets that are now so abundant with airlines ranging from Mexicana to Lufthansa, American to Avianca, Air Canada to USAirways.
The scheme itself is based on the original delivery Golden Falcon scheme from the first 3 DC-8-21s delivered to Eastern. Painted on the closest member of the final Eastern fleet in shape and size, the 757-200, and registered as N535EA (Eastern never had a 535, though if all orders had been delivered it would of been the last one).
Originally the intention was to release it as part of 2005, then 20xx. When those 2 projects got shelved, the Retro 757 did too.
A second retro jet in the later Golden Falcon was planned but is as yet non-existant.
